Liquid Facelift

A liquid facelift refers to a personalised, non-surgical treatment plan that may help address the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, early jowling and changes in facial volume. These features can develop over time due to factors such as age, genetics and environmental influences (for example, sun exposure or smoking).

A comprehensive consultation with a qualified practitioner is required to determine suitability, discuss potential risks and expected variability, and outline whether this approach may be appropriate for you.

How our consultation process works

In in-depth assessment is the first step for anyone considering a liquid facelift or other facial volume treatments. During your appointment, your skin type, facial anatomy and medical history, including current medications, will be thoroughly reviewed to determine whether you’re a suitable candidate for the treatment.

We will also go over expectations, common side effects and healing times. We’ll assess your psychological readiness for wrinkle softeners and address any additional questions you may have about the treatment.

If you fall into any of the categories listed below, this treatment may not be suitable for you, but we’ll recommend alternative options you can explore to address your needs:

  • Currently pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have conditions such as epilepsy, cancer, porphyria or enzyme disorders
  • Diagnosed with autoimmune disorders
  • Prone to keloid scarring
  • Have known allergies to hyaluronic acid, lidocaine or latex

Risks and side effects you should be aware of

All medical procedures carry risk. Outcomes vary between individuals, and no treatment can be guaranteed. This list is not a complete list of all potential risks & side effects and is meant as a guide only. Full treatment risks and side effects will be discussed in an in-person consultation.

Like other treatments aimed at reducing lines and restoring volume, a liquid facelift may result in potential side effects such as:

  • Pain, bruising or swelling
  • Itching or tenderness
  • Small lumps or uneven texture under the skin, which usually resolve on their own
  • Temporary numbness in the treated area

More serious complications, such as infections, severe allergic reactions or vision loss, can occur. If you experience persistent inflammation or other symptoms lasting more than 48 hours, please notify us right away and seek medical attention.

FAQs

.

A liquid facelift is a non-surgical approach that may help address areas of the face where volume loss has occurred over time. For some people, this treatment can support the appearance of firmer skin, enhance facial contours such as the cheeks and jawline, and soften the look of fine lines.

Outcomes vary between individuals, and a thorough consultation is always required to determine suitability and discuss what results may realistically be achieved.

From the mid-20s onward, the body’s natural collagen production gradually decreases. This change, along with other external factors, such as sun exposure and lifestyle habits, can contribute to thinning of the skin, reduced firmness, wrinkles, fine lines, and hollow areas.

A liquid facelift may help by adding volume to areas that appear sunken and by supporting facial contours. For some people, this can create the impression of lift and improved definition.

During your consultation, our practitioners will explain the treatment process in detail, discuss potential risks and side effects, and outline whether this approach may be suitable for your needs.

A liquid facelift may help improve the appearance of several age-related changes by restoring or supporting volume in targeted areas of the face. Depending on suitability, treatment can address concerns such as:

  • A flatter cheek area or reduced mid-face contours

  • Hollowing or shadowing beneath the eyes

  • Prominent folds between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds)

  • Volume loss in the temples or fine lines around the eyes

  • Early jowling, drooping at the corners of the mouth, or changes in brow position

Every person’s results vary, and a thorough consultation is always required to determine whether this treatment may be appropriate.

It varies based on individual factors such as age, skin type, metabolism and lifestyle choices. On average, effects can last between six to 12 months and in some cases even years.

While this treatment assists with enhancing facial structure and addressing common signs of ageing, it’s important to note that it cannot completely reverse the natural ageing process. At your initial appointment, our practitioners will assess your natural features and explain achievable outcomes.

Following your practitioner’s guidelines can help reduce potential risks and ensure a smooth recovery process. Here’s what you need to know:

Before your treatment:

  • Stop taking blood-thinning medications or supplements like aspirin, fish oil or vitamin E at least two weeks ahead of your appointment to lower the risk of bruising.
  • Avoid drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to the treatment.
  • Book your session at least two weeks before any significant events to allow enough time for recovery.

On the day of your appointment:

  • Arrive 10 to 15 minutes earlier to fill out paperwork and have numbing cream applied to the target areas.
  • Ensure your skin is thoroughly cleaned and free from any makeup or skincare products before your appointment to prevent potential irritation or infection.

After the treatment:

  • Limit intense exercise or physical activity that results in sweating for at least 24 hours.
  • Apply a cold compress in short 15-minute intervals to manage swelling if needed.
  • Refrain from touching or pressing on the treated areas for at least three days.
  • Avoid applying makeup for the rest of the day.
  • Don’t use cosmeceutical skincare products containing harsh active ingredients like retinol, vitamin C or AHAs for at least a week.
  • Protect your skin by avoiding sun exposure, UV light, hot saunas or extreme cold for up to two weeks.
