PDO or Polydioxanone is a flexible and degradable polymer which is most commonly used for dissolvable sutures. They are also often referred to as ‘floating threads’ as they are not anchored like a traditional thread lift.
The MINT and PDO threads work in different ways. Both are designed to give immediate results combined with progressive restoration of collagen loss. MINT threads contain tiny barbs and provide a more dramatic impact & lift which is best suited to more aged or sagging skin.
MINT threads usually consist of 4-8 per side of the face and is best only for the mid & lower face. PDO threads are more for overall collagen & elastin rejuvenation, and often depending on which area is being treated there can be anywhere from 20-100 threads per area. PDO threads can also be used anywhere on the face or body.
