WHAT IS PROFHILO®
PROFHILO® is a Facial Injectable product containing hyaluronic acid (HA) that is used to plump the skin, to smooth away wrinkles, improve texture, and boost skin quality.
It is a PATENTED hybrid cooperative complex of high and low molecular weight HA that is stabilised without CHEMICAL modification.
PROFHILO ® intervenes in the physiological process of skin ageing. It has been optimally designed to correct skin ageing through its effects on tissue remodelling and tissue repair processes.
IT IS WITHOUT CHEMICAL MODIFICATION
Using a highly purified HA that is obtained through a patented production process it is then optimally formulated without the addition of chemical agents, providing you with a well tolerated injectable treatment.

PROFHILO® contains a high concentration of high and low molecular weight HA and delivers a durable, corrective action on the facial skin through its slow release, resistance to natural degradation and tissue spreadability.

What is the difference between PROFHILO® and fillers?
HA Fillers are intended to add volume and replace volume loss in the face, e.g. to give you apple cheeks or a well-defined jawline etc. PROFHILO® is a product of hybrid cooperative complexes of high and low molecular weight HA, with each size serving a different function that is essential to exert a remodelling effect on the dermal layer of the skin, allowing for improvement to skin texture and skin quality.
Who is PROFHILO® for?
PROFHILO® is intended for anyone with concerns about skin ageing, as assessed by your cosmetic practitioner. Because as we age, declines in collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid can lead to the structural and functional changes to the skin. These alterations can cause a decrease in barrier function and hydration, and also increases sagging, pore size, wrinkles, among other undesirable changes in skin quality.
What is PROFHILO® like?
PROFHILO® is administered as an injection into the skin using an ultrafine needle on 5 pre-determined injection points on each side of the face. Each treatment session usually takes around 10 minutes.
Is there any downtime?
There is no downtime. It is advisable to avoid alcohol, aspirin or anti- inflammatory medication in the 24 hours before treatment. Immediately after treatment you should avoid wearing make-up, and give sports, swimming and any other strenuous physical activity a miss for 24 hours. It is also best to avoid saunas and steam rooms for a few days after treatment.
Are there any side effects?
As with any cosmetic treatment, side effects can occur. You may experience side effects that are localised and temporary, there may be pain, sensation of heat, redness, swelling or itching. Hardening or nodules may appear at the point of injection. If you experience any sort of adverse reaction, please contact us immediately so we can assess you.
When will I see results?
PROFHILO® typically produces a noticeable difference in skin hydration, elasticity, facial volume and wrinkle reduction after 2 treatments (30 days apart). Skin tightening, brightening, and improved texture and pigmentation have been reported after treatment.
Overall satisfaction with facial skin appearance after treatment was also reported from 8 weeks after the first treatment.
The need for top-up and maintenance treatments may vary anywhere from 2-6 months* after receiving your initial treatment (2 injections), your Nurse will need to assess and evaluate your response to the initial treatment to determine a suitable treatment interval.
