Chin Sculpting

At Injex Clinics, we provide consultations for non-surgical chin sculpting, which may help improve chin-to-face proportions for some people. Treatment approaches are individualised and discussed in detail during your consultation to ensure they are appropriate for your health and goals.

A comprehensive consultation with a qualified practitioner is always required before any treatment. This allows assessment of your medical history, facial structure, and expectations to determine whether chin sculpting may be suitable for you.

What to expect during an initial consultation for chin sculpting

As with any cosmetic treatment, a thorough assessment is required to ensure it’s suitable for you. Our practitioners will evaluate your medical history, skin type and overall skin condition. We’ll ask about your needs and goals, assess your psychological preparedness and answer any questions you may have about the treatment. Additionally, we’ll take the time to explain the treatment process thoroughly, so you feel informed and confident moving forward.

Take note that we cannot treat individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Some existing medical conditions may also increase the risk of unwanted side effects. Please inform us if you have:

  • Facial implants
  • Epilepsy, cancer, porphyria or enzyme disorders
  • Allergies including sensitivity to hyaluronic acid, lidocaine or latex
  • Autoimmune disorders or a tendency to develop keloid scarring
  • Any current medications

After a thorough assessment, we’ll suggest alternative solutions if we determine chin sculpting isn’t suitable for you. If you are an eligible candidate for this treatment, we will schedule your first session and provide detailed beforecare and aftercare instructions.

Please note that results may vary, as each individual’s body, age, skin type, genetics and lifestyle habits respond differently to treatment.

Potential side effects

All medical procedures carry risk. Outcomes vary between individuals, and no treatment can be guaranteed. This list is not a complete list of all potential risks & side effects and is meant as a guide only. Full treatment risks and side effects will be discussed in an in-person consultation.

Chin sculpting treatments come with side effects, which are typically minor and temporary. However, their severity and duration can vary.

Side effects include but are not limited to:

  • Swelling and bruising at the treated site, which usually subsides within 48 hours
  • Bumps and pimples, which generally disappear after a few days
  • Numbness in the treated area
  • Temporary nerve damage
  • Lumpiness and asymmetrical results
  • In some cases, necrosis may occur. This is an extremely rare complication where a blood vessel becomes blocked, interfering with the skin’s blood supply and potentially leading to scarring.

During your consultation, these risks will be carefully explained to ensure you’re fully informed before proceeding. If you experience any persistent or adverse side effects, consult a medical practitioner or our team immediately.

Chin sculpting treatments focus on the chin area and may help enhance balance and definition in the lower face. Outcomes vary between individuals, and not everyone will be a suitable candidate.

During your consultation, a qualified practitioner will review your medical history, assess your facial structure, and discuss your goals. This process helps determine whether chin sculpting may be appropriate for you.

  • Chin projection — For some people with a weaker or recessed chin, treatment may help create the appearance of improved balance in the side profile.

  • Chin shape — Chin contouring may assist in softening or refining the chin area, for example creating a gentler curve or reducing the look of sharpness.

  • Chin length and creases — In certain cases, treatment may help reduce the appearance of a horizontal crease caused by overactive chin muscles, or give the impression of added length to the lower face.

Chin sculpting may help soften the appearance of mild jowls. By targeting areas around the chin and the pre-jowl sulcus (the area next to the sides of the chin).

Chin sculpting may help some people create the appearance of improved balance in their facial features. For example, adjusting the proportion of the chin in relation to other areas of the face can change how features are perceived. The outcome varies between individuals and will be discussed during your consultation.

Chin contouring results are temporary and may be visible shortly after treatment. For some people, results may last around 6 to 12 months, while others may notice changes for a longer or shorter period. The duration varies between individuals and is influenced by factors such as lifestyle, metabolism, and facial structure.

If ongoing results are desired, your practitioner can discuss follow-up options with you during your consultation.

The need for follow-up sessions varies between individuals. This will be discussed with you during your consultation, where your practitioner can provide guidance based on your goals and treatment response.
