You know that fuller lips will help you feel more confident about your appearance, but maybe you’re still skeptical about the process. Here are all your questions answered so you can have all the facts.
How big will my lips get?
We start slow with our dermal lip fillers, slowly building them up over time. We work with you from the beginning to get an idea of the look you are going for, and to make sure the results you want are achievable. Have a look at our before and after photos to get an idea of what your lips will look like.
Is lip filler permanent? What if I don’t like the outcome?
Our lip fillers are not permanent and last between 6-8+ months. Although we do our best to ensure you love your new lips, removal of fillers is possible with an enzyme that dissolves the product if necessary.
How much does lip filler cost?
Dermal lip fillers start from $249.
How long will my appointment take?
Most treatments take between 15-30 minutes.
What are the risks of lip fillers?
Although this is a common procedure, there are risks involved and, for this reason, it’s important to choose a clinic and nurse that are reputable and experienced in this procedure. Do your research beforehand and don’t make your choice based on money alone. Serious risks, such as vascular occlusion are possible but are very rare with dermal lip filler treatments.
What should I do before my appointment?
You can prepare for your appointment by staying hydrated in the lead up to your consultation. Avoid any blood thinners three days prior, such as pain killers, vitamin E and fish oil.
Does it hurt?
The pain you experience during treatment will depend on your individual pain threshold. Some people say it isn’t painful at all, whereas others experience more discomfort. The needles are very small and may feel like a slight pinch, then there may be some stinging as the product is being injected. However, we use a topical numbing cream before your procedure and the filler itself contains an anesthetic, so starts numbing straight away. You may choose to have your lips numbed before the procedure, your injector will discuss this with you during your consultation.
Will I experience swelling and bruising after lip fillers?
There may be some bruising or swelling after the treatment. To allow for the best recovery you can ice your lips intermittently and we recommend avoiding exercise or hot showers the day of your treatment.
Can lip filler look natural? Will everyone know I have fillers?
You’re not going to have a Kylie Jenner pout instantly. If it is a natural look you are after, your injector will create a subtle look for you so that you can enjoy a natural fullness without looking too inflated. You’ll be surprised how a little goes a long way to boosting your confidence!
