Winter Skin tips

Share Post

There’s no denying it, Winter is here! And with it’s chilly weather brings super dry skin.

We can rug up, wear thermal undies, 3 jumpers, 2 pairs of socks, but the skin on our face is still exposed, which can cause all sorts of drama, dryness, redness, and irritation are the most common.

But you can keep your skin smooth and supple with these Winter skin tips.

Turn down the heat

As tempting as it is to get home from work and jump straight into a scorching hot shower to warm you up, it wreaks havoc on your skin causing it to become even drier!  Try turning down the heat and only using luke warm water on your face.

Water

I mean, this one is pretty standard, if you want to help pretty much any skin condition, water is a way.  It goes without saying that when you’re skin is dehydrated, you need to be hydrating!  So drink up!

Humidifier

The reason Winter dries out our skin so much is because of the lack of moisture in the air, so just put it back in yourself! There are so many humidifiers on the market these days, I even saw a car one!

Invest in good quality skincare

Ok, you knew this one was coming too! But it’s true! Quality skincare can really make a huge difference.  My winter skincare recommendations are: Hydrating Cleanser – Containing soothing plant botanicals and oils. Dual Action Exfoliant – This mild scrub helps buff away dry skin with it’s encapsulated jojoba (say hoho-bar) beads and lactic acid which attracts moisture. Hydrating Serum – With it’s hero ingredient being Hyaluronic Acid, this serum helps skin to retain moisture. Peptide Rich Moisturiser inhibits TEWL which stand for Trans Epidermal Water Loss, in laymans terms it combats water loss in the skin & you can’t go past our Eye & Lip Treatment as the name suggests a fantastic treatment for both eyes and lips!

Book a facial

It’s our personal recommendation to have a professional facial at least at the change of every season, our favourite for this is Microdermabrasion
