How to prevent wrinkles
Whether you’re in your 20’s, 30’s or older, it’s never too early to prevent wrinkles.
No matter how good you’ve been to your skin (even if you’ve been following Tash Oakley’s number one beauty rule of staying out of the sun) the sad truth is we all age. Wrinkles are a fact of life, but just because they are inevitable doesn’t mean we can’t do our bit to reduce their appearance.
We get wrinkles for all sorts of reasons, whether it’s smiling, frowning, laughing or crying. There’s no point in feeling guilty for experiencing normal human emotions, but you can do something about it.
While you don’t want to banish every single line on your face, small actions go a long way to keeping your skin smoother for longer.
What are wrinkles?
Wrinkles are creases in the skin and are a naturally occurring process as we get older. They form as our skin loses elasticity over time and becomes thinner and drier. Repeated movements cause the creases to appear, and although when we are younger the skin is able to bounce back from these movements, as we age it becomes more difficult to do so. Facial expressions, sun damage, dehydration, some medications and environmental factors can all cause wrinkles.
How can I prevent them?
There are lots of natural ways to slow down the aging process. Firstly cover up your skin to protect from the sun with a hat and long sleeves. Keep yourself hydrating by drinking plenty of water. Use a good quality anti-wrinkle skincare range from early on, such as the Skinjex range. You’ll also want to make sure you are getting enough sleep and reduce stress.
How do anti-wrinkle injections work?
The wrinkles we see are actually caused by the movement made by the muscles in our face. Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing these muscles, hindering the signal between the nerve and the muscle. Lines are softened and this treatment is most effective as a preventative measure. It also works very well with regular maintenance, meaning some clients go
up to 9 months between treatments.
Where can I get them?
Different treatment areas can be targeted with anti-wrinkle injections. The most common areas are forehead, crows feet, frown lines, bunny lines, lip lines and chin. For more information on anti-wrinkle injections check out our info page.
