PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. PRP treatment (sometimes referred to as a vampire facial) involves taking the clients blood and putting it into a centrifuge machine which spins it down and separates the Platelet Rich Plasma from the blood. This PRP (often called Liquid Gold) is then injected in micro boluses under the skin for impressive rejuvenation results. PRP injections can be used to treat fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, dark undereyes, acne scarring, stretch marks, hair loss and more.
As PRP involves a series of tiny injections there is always post-treatment swelling that can last for several days. Bruising is also a common side effect, however is usually quite superficial and resolves in 7-10 days.
A numbing cream is applied so your PRP treatment is as comfortable as possible.
This treatment is not recommend for people on blood thinning medications. If you are pregnant and/or breastfeeding, you can still have PRP treatment but will have to omit numbing.
One of our friendly staff will be able to assess your skin and determine whether you are suitable for PRP, however, unless contraindicated, this treatment is great for everyone.
We recommend a course of PRP treatments once every 6 weeks for a certain duration depending on the condition.
